Embroidery and embossing are two techniques that are used on fabric. The former, is a special stitching that is made on fabric by hand needlepoint or machine. Embroidery is most often seen on clothing, pillows and curtains. The latter, embossing, is material with a raised pattern created by pressure or embroidery such as “brocaded silk”, “embossed satin”, “embossed leather”, “raised needlework” etc. Most often, embossed fabric is used in home furnishings such as drapery. Both of these fabrics are quite expensive since the patterns involve more labor than other fabrics. It is also more of a fashionably brazen look for home or personal decor.
So take a risk and raise a little hell;)
